The deleted scenes suggest the makers were exploring Aurora discovering Jim’s deceit. We also see her cruel narcissistic side - so begin to see both as real, faulty human beings. If these had been kept and expanded, the film would have been much more dramatic and dark. The final version went for cute love story and happiness. Unfortunately, a version where hate swallowed up everything leading to a more dramatic and realistic was avoided. It’s interesting to see snippets of that alternative.

This is a severely underrated movie. It explores our human essence in so many ways. Very well written. The writer clearly has studied us for a long time. :)

I just discovered clips of this on RUclips and now I have to see the movie. Denzel and Chris Pratt as leading men? They are going to have to try hard to make this not work, but the clips I've seen indicate they were working in the opposite direction.

The dinner scene and that scene where she finds that book/photostrip built a little tension because shes nudging up against his secret (waking her up). They shouldve kept them in, i dont think there are any scenes like that, she just randomly finds out out of the blue.

After watching the film, it felt like something was missing, and these deleted scenes were exactly what was missing. What was the point of deleting them?

Could've been told from her perspective. And after the first high, she came into the slow realization. He redeemed himself but died, and she became the new him, waking someone else up after a while being alone.

Man it's a crime they cut that phone call. Early chance for Chris and Jen to show the range they had. Don't know exactly when in the film it was meant to be, but damn it's a huge shame it got cut. I wouldn't mind all these scenes being worked into the movie, but I think if only one could be recovered, it absolutely must be that phone call.

So if the captain made that trip 12 times.. and each trip takes 120 years.. that means he is over 1,440 years old. Not counting his age when starting and the Jupiter trips, he is really freaking old.

i think it wouldve been alot better if she figured out jim jerry rigged her pod from the book instead of arthur, cause then it humanizes arthur a bit and also doesnt leave out the fact he stuffed the book in there cus im sure alot of people thought that'd be a problem later
